Providence City Council to vote on $600 million budget

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence City Council will initiate a final vote on the city’s proposed budget on Thursday.

The council voted to approve the budget for first passage last week. 

The nearly $600 million budget includes investments to improve climate change, sewer systems, and a new police academy.

If passed, the budget will go to Mayor Brett Smiley’s desk for signature.
