Providence club ordered closed for 72 hours after triple shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Board of Licenses has ordered a club to close for 72 hours after three men were shot in its vicinity early Sunday morning.

The Levels Lounge on Broad Street was ordered to close in an emergency meeting Sunday afternoon pending the release of surveillance footage in connection to the triple shooting.

According to a police report obtained by ABC 6 News, officers were dispatched to the area of 1125 Broad St., the Rent A Center, around 2:10 a.m. for a business alarm going off.

When officers arrived on the scene, they said they found a bullet hole in the front window pane of the business. There was also a hole in the metal frame of the window.

About a minute before the alarm went off, the report states that another officer in the area of Broad Street heard approximately four to five gunshots but could not locate a scene.

At 2:24 a.m., the report states that three gunshot victim arrived at an area hospital. One man had an apparent gunshot wound to his shoulder and said he was shot after leaving the Levels Lounge and walking towards the Rent A Center parking lot.

According to the report, the second victim sustained three gunshot wounds to the right side of his head and told officials he saw a grey Audi sedan flee the scene. The third victim sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.

After further investigation, police said they found a .22 caliber shell casing in the street where the shooting happened.

None of the victims are pressing charges at this time and all are expected to recover.

The Providence Board of Licenses will hold a Show Cause Hearing regarding the Levels Lounge on December 6.
