Providence clubs closed due to violent incidents to be reviewed

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Board of Licenses will meet Tuesday to discuss whether two popular venues in the city should reopen after a violent weekend.

Mezzo Lounge has been ordered to close for 72 hours since a shots fired incident occurred outside the club early Sunday morning.

Police say they found several shell casings, and three cars with bullet holes.

No one was hurt, and no arrests have been made.

Early Saturday morning, police also responded to three people being stabbed at Lovera VIP.

That club was also ordered to close for 72 hours.

The Providence Board of License will evaluate the safety of both venues and decide if they can reopen.
