CCRI, Providence College move to online classes
The colleges join other area schools in undertaking protective measures to stop the spread of coronavirus

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College and the Community College of Rhode Island became the latest area schools to move to online learning on Wednesday evening.
Providence College, which is currently on spring break, issued a statement informing students that all classes will be conducted online beginning Wednesday, March 18.
In-person instruction is scheduled to begin April 14, however, that may change depending on the severity of the coronavirus outbreak.
Additionally, all on-campus meetings and events with over 100 attendees will be canceled or rescheduled.
CCRI will extend its spring break until March 22, with online classes beginning the next day. Digital lessons will continue until at least April 3, according to a statement from college president Meghan Hughes.
Libraries and computer labs, as well as advisers and student counseling, will still be accessible during that time.
