Providence crash leaves one dead and another critically injured

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Providence police are currently investigating a crash that caused the death of one occupant, and critically injuring another.

Providence police received a call for a car that ran into a pole in the center median on Elmwood Ave at 2:30 a.m on Sunday.

Police say surrounding streets were closed off as emergency officials worked on the victims. 

Both victims were rushed to an area hospital in critical condition. Police have since confirmed the death of one of the occupants. 

The victims have not been identified at this time and the story will be updated as more information becomes available.
