PROVIDENCE, R.I. — One of Rhode Island’s ‘Most Wanted’ fugitives who was considered highly dangerous by police has been captured.
Alberto Rivera of Cranston will face charges for a providence shooting and assault.
The Sun Chronicle reports Rivera waived extradition in Attleboro District Court Tuesday.
Rivera was arrested by Rhode Island State Police, US Marshals, and Brockton police Friday.
Providence police say Rivera broke into his ex-wife’s home on Lowell Avenue on December 4th armed with a gun.
The suspect then shot his ex-wife’s boyfriend before taking off.
Providence police are expected to escort Rivera back to Rhode Island.
