PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence Community Library card holders now have access to over 30,000 films, documentaries, and other visual content free of charge thanks to a new partnership.
The on-demand film streaming service Kanopy, connected with over 4,000 libraries and campuses worldwide, has partnered with Providence Community Library to allow the community’s 51,000 card holders access to the vast catalog of titles.
Kanopy is available for free through all nine Providence Community Library locations, and allows users to watch up to eight videos or films a month on any computer, television, or mobile device by downloading the Kanopy app.
“We are very excited to expand our digital services to include Kanopy” said Library Director, Cheryl Space. “Patrons will be able to stream materials on a wide range of devices and because the collection is so diverse, many patrons will be able to enjoy content that reflects their own cultural background and language.”
