Providence man accused of secretly filming women, girl in home bathroom

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence man is accused of filming women and a teenage girl with a hidden camera in his home bathroom.

Rhode Island State Police arrested William Alvarez, 49, last month on four counts of felony video voyeurism.

Alvarez was arrested at the Wickford barracks on Sept. 11.

According to a report obtained by ABC 6 News, Alvarez allegedly secretly filmed multiple women, as well as a 16-year-old girl, in the bathroom and shower areas of his home.

The report shows the videos were taken from June 2021 to August 2023.

Alvarez is expected to appear in court on Nov. 6.
