Providence man arrested after police pursuit through Rhode Island, Massachusetts

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Police Department said a Providence man was arrested on various charges including stalking and causing a high speed pursuit on Friday.
36-year-old Andrew Fernandez was charged with one count of domestic stalking, one count of domestic cyber stalking, seven counts of felony violation of an no contact order from various courts, 1 count of high speed pursuit, one count of obstruction, and driving with an expired license.
Police alleged that they saw Fernandez around 8:20 a.m. driving a vehicle with Massachusetts plates, and attempted to stop him due to having multiple felony warrants out for his arrest.
A pursuit began which went through the City of Woonsocket and into North Smithfield, Lincoln, North Providence, Providence, then into and returning from Massachusetts.
Fernandez was eventually apprehended by Providence police and turned over to the Woonsocket department.
He will be remanded at the Adult Correctional Institutions and is expected in court on Feb. 24.
