Providence man arrested on charges of child pornography

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — United States Attorney Zachary Cunha said that a Providence man was arrested on Wednesday on charges of child pornography.
30-year-old James Moses is being charged with distribution and possession of child pornography.
Cunha said that Moses allegedly uploaded documents of explicit videos involving prepubescent males and adult males on multiple platforms and that he stored videos of child pornography on his personal devices.
Cunha said an FBI officer posed as a person interested in the sexual exploitation of children, and it is alleged that Moses responded to the undercover officer’s posting and began multiple discussions about his interest in having sexual contact with minors.
Moses allegedly sent the undercover officer explicit videos of child pornography and he was arrested by the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on July 17.
Cunha said that police allegedly found more than 100 videos on Moses’ electronic devices.
Moses was originally released on $2,500 bail but was arrested after the FBI filed a federal complaint. Moses is being held before his initial appearance in court.
