Providence man charged with DUI, reckless endangerment in Connecticut

HARTFORD, Conn. (WLNE) — A Rhode Island man has been arrested in Southington, Connecticut, after allegedly being observed traveling within closed travel lanes, driving around construction vehicles and passing a state police cruiser.

According to Connecticut State Police, these vehicles were in place to block closed lanes and protect workers in the roadway.

After a trooper cycled through multiple siren tones, the driver of the Honda Pilot, Andrew Bravo, 25, came to a stop, according to police.

Bravo showed signs of impairment according to police and did not perform field sobriety tests to standard.

He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs in a construction zone, reckless driving in a construction zone, failure to obey the signal of an officer and four counts of reckless endangerment in the second degree.

He was later released on $500 cash/surety bond and will be arraigned in New Britain Superior Court on July 12.
