A Providence man was sentenced Friday to 58 years in prison after shooting a rival gang member outside a nightclub last December.

Police say Denzel Barboza, 24, shot Angel Toj in the head outside the Roxy nightclub on Washington Street on December 12th after a dispute. Toj survived the shooting, but lost vision in his right eye.

Barboza pled guilty in March to charges including assault with a dangerous weapon and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence resulting in injury.
