Providence man sentenced to ACI for child molestation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence man was sentenced in Providence County Superior Court after a child molestation conviction, according to the office of Attorney General Peter F. Neronha.

Richard Hernandez Fernandez, 23, was sentenced to nine years at the ACI on August 22.

Fernandez will also be on probation for 25 years and must register as a sex offender which will include lifetime GPS monitoring.

Between 2016 and 2018, Fernandez sexually assaulted a female victim, who was under the age of 14, at a residence in Providence.
