Providence pizza shop no longer being evicted, landlords agree on one-year lease

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence pizza shop is no longer being evicted.

Piemonte Pizza and Grille on Doyle Avenue was given an eviction notice a few months back.

However, the owner, John Oner said at the time of receiving the eviction notice, he thought the restaurant had a 15-year lease agreement.

In eviction court on Friday, landlords Patrick Merner and Andy Marr decided not to pursue eviction and said they settled in “good faith.”

Merner said the agreement was mutual and hopefully, the new one-year lease will work out for both parties.

The landlords previously told ABC 6 News that the original agreement was a five-year lease with the option to renew every five years, but the landlords originally chose not to renew Piemonte’s lease because ongoing issues with Oner.
