PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said it arrested four individuals Friday in connection with an armed robbery in Harvard.

The department said a vehicle containing the suspects was seen being pursued by Massachusetts State Police before crossing over state lines into Rhode Island.

The car then crashed near the Providence/Cranston line, and all four suspects attempted to flee.

They were all apprehended by officers and then handed over to Rhode Island State Police for charging.

The robbery in Harvard occurred on Jan. 9, when a FedEx driver had a package he was delivering taken from him by force, and was threatened verbally.

The Harvard Police Department said that a preliminary investigation of the robbery showed the suspects may have been specifically targeting that delivery, as neighbors said they saw the suspect vehicle in the area sometime before the incident.

Surveillance video taken of the incident showed two masked individuals approach the delivery driver and forcibly take the package.
