Providence Police arrest more than a dozen people as part of Fireworks Task Force

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): The Providence Police Department has arrested more than a dozen people since creating the Fireworks Task Force.

According to the Police Department, 6 people were arrested on Thursday night and 8 people were arrested on Friday night.

Earlier this week, Providence Police and Fire Departments teamed up with the Rhode Island Fire Marshal’s office to create  the Fireworks Task Force.

According to police, it is  made up of nearly a dozen law enforcement officials, who will work the streets from Thursday through Saturday, and be responsible for responding to the increased calls for fireworks and noise related incidents.
