Providence Police arrest suspect in city’s 10th homicide

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said it has taken a suspect into custody in connection with a homicide that occurred on Westminster Street Wednesday.

A 40-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the death of 57-year-old Michael Ames.

Police added that the name of the suspect and the charges they face will be released.

The killing was the city’s 10th in 2024.
