Providence Police arrest two, seize firearms and drugs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Two men are facing charges after police seized firearms and drugs from a Providence apartment.
According to police, Michael Dossantos and Nathaniel Rodrigues, both 22 years old, were observed walking on a Providence street with firearms in their possession.
Police obtained a warrant and seized seven firearms, including three rifles, along with cocaine and marijuana from a Hall Street apartment.
Providence Police said some of the firearms were legally owned, but the Dossantos and Rodrigues did not have permits to carry.
Dossantos was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, while Rodrigues faces the following charges:
- Possession with intent to deliver Cocaine
- Possession with intent to deliver Marijuana
- 7 counts of possession of a firearm while in possession with intent (Cocaine)
- 7 counts of possession of a firearm while in possession with intent (Marijuana)
- Carrying a firearm without a license
Major David Lapatin said they’re fortunate to have gotten these guns off the street, saying some of them could shoot through bulletproof vests.
