Providence police, Board of Licenses investigating early morning stabbing

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department is investigating an early morning stabbing at a bar on North Main Street that occurred Saturday.

Police were sent to Rhode Island Hospital to speak with a stabbing victim around 1 a.m.

When they arrived, the victim told the officer they and their friend were attacked by five individuals at the Sports and Leisure Bar.

Despite being ejected from the bar, the fight continued outside, when the victim was stabbed multiple times in the back.

Police are still searching for the suspects, some of which were described as a white male, a black male, and a white brunette.

The Providence Board of Licenses held an emergency meeting on the bar according to its meeting webpage.
