Victim identified in Providence fatal stabbing

Providence Police are investigating a stabbing that left one man dead Saturday morning.
Police say 27 year old Colby Mendonca, a former Soldier, died after being stabbed.
He was discovered around 2 a.m. behind a pharmacy on Elmwood Avenue and rushed to Rhode Island Hospital.
Around the same time, police responded to another stabbing on Broad Street but the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
No one has been arrested and this is the city’s ninth homicide this year.
