Providence Police investigate stabbing near Canal Street

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Two suspects were arrested following a stabbing early Saturday morning.

According to police, the stabbing happened near Canal Street at about 1:30 a.m.

Lieutenant Smith tells ABC6 a fight between the two subjects broke out on the second floor of Fat Belly’s Pub. After the two men were kicked out, the altercation continued at a parking lot near by.

The male victim suffered serious injury from a stab wound near the lower abdomen.

The suspects were charged with simple assault. This matter is still under investigation.
