Providence Police investigating 2 Friday night stabbings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said it is investigating two stabbings that occurred on Friday night.
Police Chief Oscar Perez said the first incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Bolton Avenue when a police cruiser was flagged down for a reported stabbing.
He added that police had been dispatched to the area multiple times prior to disperse a group of juveniles who were “causing a disturbance.”
Perez said a 15-year-old had suffered a non-life threatening stab wound under his ribs.
A 17-year-old suspect was then taken into custody.
Perez said the second incident took place at the intersection of Academy Avenue and Chalkstone Avenue, where a 17-year-old had suffered a non-life threatening stab wound in the back.
Police are still investigating the second incident and are looking for a suspect.
