Providence Police investigating after person stabbed in the head

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police are investigating a stabbing that injured one person Sunday evening.

The Providence Police Department said it happened around 6 p.m. in the area of Elmwood Avenue and Woodman St.

According to police, the victim was stabbed in the head above the left ear but was alert and conscious on-scene.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with unknown injuries.

Police said detectives are actively investigating the incident.
