Providence Police investigating stabbing near RIPTA headquarters

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred near the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority headquarters Wednesday.

Police responded to a stabbing on 131 Longfellow Street Wednesday night and found one victim.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

ABC6 News crews on scene reported seeing multiple police cruisers outside the RIPTA headquarters on Elmwood Avenue.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
