Providence police looking into attempted kidnapping

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Police are looking into a reported attempted kidnapping on Stanwood Street that occurred on Thursday at around 1:30 p.m.
According to police, a woman was walking into a store when a man used a taser on her neck, threw her on the ground, and then tased her again in the ribs, before attempting to force her into his vehicle.
After the woman broke free, the man reportedly fled in the direction of Broad Street in his vehicle.
The woman sustained injuries consistent with what she told Providence Police, and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital following the incident, according to a Providence city spokesperson.
No information about potential suspects has been released at this time.
