Providence Police respond to large crowd outside club, arrest 1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said it arrested one man and dispersed a large crowd outside Noir Lounge on Union Street on July 25.

24-year-old Louis Stevenson was charged with simple assault on officers, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. 

The department said officers responded to the club around 10:30 p.m. for reports of a disturbance.

Officers alleged that Stenson became combative and caused a struggle before he was arrested.

The department also said a large crowd gathered during the arrest, which was dispersed with assistance from other officers.

One officer suffered a minor injury due to the struggle.
