Providence police respond to RI Hospital patient suffering gunshot wound to face

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police detectives are investigating a shooting that left an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the side of his face.

According to the Providence Police Department, officers responded to Rhode Island Hospital Tuesday night at approximately 9:20 p.m. for a report of the gunshot victim.

The victim said that he had been shot by unknown parties, and was not able to give officers a location where the incident occurred.

Police later learned that the incident occurred in Providence at 269 Montgomery Ave.

The wound sustained by the victim is non-life-threatening, according to police.

The shooting remains under investigation at this time.
