Providence police respond to shots fired at gas station

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence police responded to a report of shots fired on Saturday at a Shell Gas Station.
Officers arrived on scene at the Admiral Street gas station just before 10 p.m.
According to Providence police, dispatch told them the shots allegedly came from a burgundy colored Dodge Charger that had been parked at the gas station.
Authorities noted that a patrolman had been filing his cruiser at the Shell Station about ten minutes before the shots were fired. That officer witnessed the same burgundy colored car and saw three men inside of it.
After the shots were fired, police searched the station’s parking lot and found six 9mm shell casings just a few feet away from the gas station’s store area.
The store clerk told officers he thought he heard fireworks.
Providence police said the store had multiple surveillance cameras inside of the store but none outside of the building.
Providence police are investigating.
