Providence Police searching for an escaped prisoner, possibly armed

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Providence police are searching for a man who escaped their custody at Rhode Island Hospital on Saturday.

Police say David Marroquin, 19, was arrested Friday on an arrest warrant for breaking and entering.

According to police, the suspect managed to escape his handcuffs while police were taking him from the hospital to the police car. Marroquin then ran from the police.

Police urge the public to use caution if they see Marroquin as he is known to carry guns, and was in possession of a knife during the initial arrest.

Marroquin was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt, a jean jacket with fur on the collar, and white and red-colored Nike sneakers.

His last known address was in Providence’s District 6, according to police.
