Providence police searching for suspect after bicyclist is injured

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police are searching for a suspect following an alleged hit-and-run.

According to officials, an individual was riding their bicycle on Cranston Street around 11:45 p.m. when he was struck by a car.

The victim sustained an injury to his eye, as well as a punctured lung.

The person who was driving the car, according to police, fled the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
