Police ID suspect charged in Charlesgate homicide

Providence Police have confirmed that a person of interest in connection to the homicide of Zenaida Pacheco, has been charged with her murder.

Police say 31-year-old Efrain Blanco turned himself into police around 9 p.m. Wednesday, after releasing surveillance photos of him at the apartment early that day.

Pacheco was found murdered in her home at the Charlesgate Apartments on October 24th, the city’s 14th homicide of the year. 

Blanco was charged Thursday with Pacheco’s murder and ordered held without bail. He is scheduled to be back in court on November 18th.
