Providence Public Schools kick off first day, spotlight new building and redesigned schools

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee and Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green joined Providence Mayor Brett Smiley and Providence Public Schools Superintendent Doctor Javier Montañez for a tour of new school buildings and redesigned Providence schools to kick off the first day of classes.

The tour included visiting the redesigned Delsesto Middle School and Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex.

Officials also broke ground on the new Harry Kizirian Elementary School at Narducci Learning Center.

ABC6 joined officials live at the the First Student Bus Yard as officials kicked off the first day.
