Providence school leaders to celebrate new facilities at D’Abate Elementary School

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Education Commissioner Anhélica Infante-Green and Providence Public School District Superintendent Dr. Javier Montanez will join leaders, teachers, and students to celebrate the new D’Abate Elementary School in a dedication ceremony today.

The school was one of three new schools reopened this school year after extensive investments in facilities to insure all students “learn in a high-quality learning environment,” according to a release.

The U.S. Department of Education previously awarded the school the green ribbon for excellence in resource efficiency.

After the dedication ceremony, there will be also be a tour of the school’s 21st-century learning space.

The ceremony will start at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
