Providence to host dedication ceremony for Mr. Lemon Place

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The iconic Rhode Island frozen treat stand will be getting special recognition today.

Mayor Brett Smiley and Representative Gabe Amo will join Councilor Justin Royes to host a ceremony and speaking program to mark the dedication of Hawkins Street as Mr. Lemon Place.

The dedication couple behind Mr. Lemon, Joseph and Eileen Rao, will be honored with a ceremonial street designation for the care they showed their customers throughout their lives.

The ceremony will begin tonight at 5 p.m. on Hawkins Street.
