Providence updates grant eligibility for small businesses facing pandemic-fuelled challenges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Jorge Elorza said Wednesday that Providence has updated grant eligibility for small businesses that continue to face challenges from the pandemic.
The COVID-19 Small Business Relief Program is designed to provide grants to small business owners throughout the city in an effort to support economic recovery.
In a release, the mayor’s office said, “The updated eligibility removes the minimum tangible asset amount and makes businesses that have less than $500,000 in tangible property registered with the city eligible for the grant program.”
Eligible businesses can apply using the COVID-19 Small Business Grant Application.
“Small businesses that previously applied and were ineligible, but now meet the program requirements, will have their applications reopened and processed automatically,” added the mayor’s office.
