Public meeting scheduled ahead of Washington Bridge demolition restarting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said it will be hosting a virtual public meeting on Oct. 11 ahead of demolition resuming on the Washington Bridge.

Gov. Dan McKee’s office confirmed that RIDOT intends to resume full demolition activity on the westbound portion of the Washington Bridge on Oct. 15, but will confirm the date once it is finalized.

The meeting is scheduled for Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.

RIDOT said the meeting will provide information on the demolition project.

Residents, business owners, commuters and other interested individuals were invited to attend.
