‘Pucks for Bucks’ grants boy’s wish to go to Disney

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Wish Come True said a child’s wish was granted thanks to money raised from “Pucks for Bucks,” a fundraiser organized by an 8-year-old Acushnet boy that supports children with illnesses.

According to the nonprofit, Maddox – who was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type V, which causes his bones to be fragile – will be going to Disney with his family.

A Wish Come True said that Maddox chose Disney because it is a place where he can “simply be a kid and make magical memories to last a lifetime.”

“We’re so excited to share that Maddox’s wish is coming true—thanks to ‘Pucks for Bucks with Jack,'” A Wish Come True said. “Jack, the sibling of a former wish child, created this fundraiser to help another child experience the magic of a wish.”

8-year-old Jack Leandro kickstarted the fundraiser on May 12, which marked his sister Sydney’s three-year anniversary of being cancer-free.

“Pucks for Bucks” will continue to raise money for children through the end of August.
