‘Purple alert’ bill for locating adults with severe disabilities passes Rhode Island house
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island house passed a bill Thursday approving legislation that would establish a “purple alert” system that could quickly help find missing adults with serious disabilities.
This comes after an autistic woman went missing in Cranston back in March.
Linda DeLomba was missing for nearly a week when she was found safe in the back seat of a car.
The purple alert legislation now heads to the senate for consideration.
