PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence’s free outdoor signature art festival returns, after a two-year COVID hiatus.

Organizers planning the sixth annual PVDFest said the celebration will be held June 10-12.

PVDFest will once again be hosted by Mayor Jorge Elorza, the city’s Department of Art, Culture and Tourism and founding partner FirstWorks.

For the first time since 2019, artists will meet in the capital city to showcase the Providence’s creative community.

The popular art fest started in 2015, and brought in 100,000 people to the downtown area in 2019.

The festival was set to make a comeback in 2021, but was canceled once again due to the pandemic.
