PVDFest programming details announced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Mayor Brett Smiley announced programming details for 2024’s PVDFest Thursday alongside several officials from the creative and artistic communities.

The event will take place in Downtown Providence on September 6 and 7 with a rain date of September 8.

“Please join us in celebrating our Creative Capital this September and be sure to stop by a few of our restaurants and establishments Downtown and throughout the City to get the most out of your PVDFest experience,” said Mayor Smiley.

Among the highlights of the event will be Italian aerialists eVenti Verticali, who will return for their performance of “SPHERE,” which consists of five dancers performing while suspended from a crane.

Art + Technology will present artwork created using virtual reality and AI, and Chip Douglas and Friends will stage a mix of hip-hop, R&B and dance.

Food trucks and artisan markets will also be featured at PVDFest, along with the People’s Parade.
