Quahogger’s body recovered from water in Dartmouth

By News Staff
Dartmouth Police and Fire crews recovered the body of a quahogger in the waters off of Smith Neck Road Tuesday night.
The body of the man, 65-year-old Manuel Marques, of Dartmouth, was found about ¼ mile south of the Padnaram Bridge.
He was sent to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Marques’ death does not appear to be suspicious, police say, but his body will be assessed by the state medical examiner’s office.
Dartmouth and State Police were assigned to the investigation.
