Quick nocturnal rain and wind early Saturday, watching snow for next week

Another nice day is coming up on Friday before a colder and blustery weekend – and in between, yet another rain and wind storm.

Picture this one as a mini version of the bear that came through on Tuesday Night. We will have less rain (1-2″) slightly lower winds (30-50 mph gusts) and minor coastal flooding.

This will still put an added strain on our rivers, but fortunately they are on the way down. Expect them to remain in a minor to moderate flood stage over the weekend as a result.

Coastal flooding would be greatest during high tide times Saturday morning, which are 8-9 for most of our shorelines. The storm will fortunately be exiting at that point and winds will be shifting, which will likely spare us from widespread breaches and impassible roads.

Coastal locations should still take precautions, such as moving cars and charging batteries in the event of an outage.

Clouds will give way to sun Saturday, with colder and breezy conditions right through Sunday. The sun continues MLK Monday before potentially our next snow event on Tuesday.
