Quiet weather to end the week, more snow Saturday night

Thursday Night Weather

Slushy roads and other surfaces could refreeze tonight north and west of Providence, so use caution!

We now turn out attention to Saturday night. After a dry Friday and Saturday, another fast-moving storm arrives Saturday night.

We will see several more inches with this one as it is a true overnight storm and will hence be colder.

The onset of the storm will be around 10 p.m., with the worst of the snow falling between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Snowfall rates of around 1″/hr are expected during that time.

A general 3-6″ is expected across the area. Rain/sleet will mix in further south towards the end of the storm Sunday morning. Mixing is trending a bit less likely even at the shore.

Sat Snow

Next week will yield the opportunity for two more storms as our active pattern continues, one Tuesday night into Wednesday and the other Thursday. Stay tuned!
