Quonset Air Museum damaged in partial roof collapse

A partial roof collapse at the Quonset Air Museum in North Kingstown is being blamed on the snow. A 20 x 20 foot section of a storage area came crashing down sometime between 10 am and 3 pm Saturday.

The museum’s vice president tells ABC6 he made the unfortunate discovery some time afterwards. No one was inside.

The Eccleston Avenue facility houses a large collection of aircraft. The room is currently blocked off with debris. Museum workers hope to be able to get in soon to assess the damage.
