Quonset Assistant Fire Chief arrested for soliciting a child for sex

Quonset, RI (WLNE) – Rhode Island State Police (RISP) arrested the Assistant Fire Chief working for the Quonset based Air National Guard Friday for patronizing a child for commercial sexual activity and indecent solicitation of a child.
Stephen E. Barker, 49, of Warwick was arrested for one felony count of patronizing a minor for commercial sexual activity and for one felony count of indecent solicitation, according to RISP.
State police say the arrest came following an investigation by RISP detectives that revealed Barker allegedly provided compensation for a child to perform a sexual act.
Barker met the child on the app Snapchat and arranged a meeting where the sexual act would be performed, according
Search warrants were later issued for Barker’s electronics and social media accounts.
Barker was arraigned at Third Division District Court in Warwick and released on $5000 with surety bail.
Barker was ordered to not have any contact with the juvenile victim
He is due back in court on December 2.
