Raccoon falls through ceiling of liquor store, gets drunk and passes out on bathroom floor
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — We call them “trash pandas,” but sometimes they like to help themselves to the top-shelf stuff.
Animal control in Ashland, VA were called to a disturbance at a local liquor store, sloshing through puddles of whiskey and scotch and crunching over broken bottles.
The trail of smashed inventory led directly to the suspect; a drunk raccoon passed out on the bathroom floor.
According to the officer, the raccoon fell through the store’s ceiling and perceived his surroundings as an open bar.
After sleeping off the bender, the raccoon was released and sent on his way.
According to the Associated Press, Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter issued the following statement:
After a few hours of sleep and zero signs of injury (other than maybe a hangover and poor life choices), he was safely released back to the wild, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the answer.
