Rain and heavy winds sweep across Rhode Island
NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — Strong winds and rain could lead to power outages across Rhode Island Wednesday.
It’s important to have a plan in place in case of outages, such as an emergency kid with food and water, flashlights, batteries, first aid supplies and more.
Make sure your car has a full tank of gas, or is fully charged, in case of widespread outages.
The wind gusts from today’s storm could reach 50 mph in some areas, and 40 mph winds have been reported in New Bedford.
Keep an eye out for downed power lines and trees on your commute this morning.
All told we are expecting several inches of rain which can lead to slick roads and hydroplaning in flood-prone areas.
