Rain and snow for Southern New England
A winter storm will make for uncomfortable driving conditions around Southern New England today– especially important with so many people getting out on the roads for the holidays!
Snow showers begin mid-morning, but quickly turn to a mix/rain for the coast, while continuing into the afternoon for interior towns and cities. That said, the coast will see rain throughout the day, and rain will also become more widespread across central RI and Bristol County (MA) later into the evening. The highest accumulations will likely be in northwestern Providence County, where we could see 1-3″ total.
Overnight, after our storm leaves, temperatures don’t dip much. We’ll be in the low to mid 30s. However, it’ll get breezy.
Christmas Eve will be breezy as well, but with sunshine and highs around 40!
Christmas Day will be calmer, but after some morning sunshine, clouds will increase. Highs will be in the low 40s.
We’re tracking two more storms later in the week! One overnight Friday/the first half of Saturday that could bring snow showers and a wintry mix, and another on Sunday that will bring rain.
Stay safe and have a wonderful holiday!
