Ravizza appears in court, potential charges from alleged murder in Connecticut still pending
PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — Stabbing spree suspect Jared Ravizza appeared in court today on multiple charges, and could be hit with a murder charge from Connecticut.
The Connecticut State Police shared in update on Tuesday that criminal charges regarding a body found on Saturday are still pending.
Braintree Police have stated that they believed that the body found, who was identified as 70-year-old Bruce Feldman, could be connected to suspect Ravizza was arrested in Sandwich, Massachusetts after going on a stabbing spree in Braintree and Quincy.
The Martha’s Vineyard resident appeared in court today for the Braintree and Plymouth stabbings for charges of assault and intent to murder with a dangerous weapon.
Officers said Ravizza entered an AMC in Braintree on Saturday night to stab 4 girls, before heading to a McDonalds drive-thru and stabbing two employees.
In a post on their website, officials wrote that officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Saturday afternoon to find that a shovel had been thrown through the front door window pane.
The individuals who complained about the incident identified the suspect as someone who they recognized as someone standing by a residence nearby. It was reported that prior to the incident, an audible disturbance was heard at a Maritone Lane address.
The reports led officers to find Feldman outside of the residence with visible injuries, deceased.
According to Connecticut State Police, officers would later indicate that an individual who was no longer at the residence, later identified as Ravizza, was present earlier in the day.
Personal items belonging to Ravizza were located at the scene and witnesses provided a description consistent with that of Ravizza.
Surrounding agencies in the state as well as law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts were notified of this incident and provided with a description of a vehicle associated with this individual.
Ravizza would later be apprehended after a police chase in Sandwich after the alleged crimes in Braintree and Plymouth.
According to Conn. state police, the investigation of the remains active and ongoing.
Ravizza remains in custody in the State of Massachusetts, and criminal charges in Connecticut are pending.
According to WCVB, a mental evaluation of Ravizza was ordered and is expected to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court today for the McDonald incident.
