Raynham police investigating deadly crash

RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Raynham police are investigating a fatal Sunday night crash.

It happened just after 8 p.m. on South Street West.

Police said a 911 call first came in reporting an erratic driver in the area, and then another call reporting a vehicle hit a tree.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the tree was pronounced dead on scene, police and fire officials said.

The driver was identified only as a 31-year-old man.

The passenger of that vehicle, a 33-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries, police said.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
